Troubleshooting
The booth screen is black and the ring light won't turn on
If both the booth screen and the ring light are off, this is a sure sign that the booth is not getting power.
First, check that your power source is working. If it is, check the cables connections from top to bottom of the photo booth tower.
Top Connection:
- Ring Light: Round Male to Female cable connecting between booth tower and head.
- iPad: USB-C Male to Female cable connecting between booth tower and head.
Middle Connection:
- Ring Light: Standard 2-prong AC power cable plugged into power strip, connecting top tower to bottom tower.
- iPad: USB-C Male power cable plugged into charging brick, connecting top tower to bottom tower.
Bottom:
- The bottom most cable is what connects directly to your power source. If you have an extension cord plugged in, make sure it’s connected at the wall port.
The booth screen is black, but the ring light is on
If the booth screen is black, but the ring light is working, it means your booth is getting power at the wall, but the iPad is not getting power. Please check the cord connections from top to bottom for just the iPad/USB-C cables, following the steps in the first troubleshooting scenario above. If everything is plugged in, but it’s still not powering on, please unplug the main power and re-plug in to force iPad to power on.
The booth screen is on, but the ring light is black
If the booth screen is on, but the ring light is black, it could mean a few different things.
- You iPad arrives fully charged, so there is a chance you are running on battery but not getting any power to the iPad and Ring light. Check the cord connections following the first troubleshooting scenario above.
- If the iPad shows the charging icon in the upper-right corner, but the ring light is not on, make sure the knob on the back of the ring light is turned on (clockwise to adjust brightness). If the knob is on but nothing happens, there is likely a disconnect in the ring light cable somewhere. Check the steps for the first troubleshooting scenario above.
- If you’ve completed the troubleshooting steps and double-checked all of the cables are plugged in, but the ring light still won’t turn on, there is a chance it was damaged during shipment. Please let us know asap if this is the case.
My event is showing the wrong screens or files
Make sure you have connected to WiFi first. Then, while on the event admin screen, refresh the event following the instructions in the PDF guide above. All refreshed assets will download. Start your event again to confirm.
I'm not receiving any photos by email/text
Make sure you have connected to WiFi first. Then, check the upload log/queue in the event admin screen to see if any photos have been uploaded. If you see any uploads pending, it is because your WiFi connection is either not working, or is rate limiting the booth.
If you don’t see any pending uploads, then your phone carrier or email may be delaying or filtering delivery of your photo. Please check your Spam / Other folders if emailing.
